SummerThyme Peach Electrolyte Lemonade

ree

I live in an area of the world where August is usually the hottest month of the year and I need as much hydration as I can get right now. This yummy (and photogenic!) lemonade recipe is exactly what the herbalist ordered.

For a single serving you'll need:

Juice from 1 lemon

1/2 a peach

3-4 sprigs of fresh thyme

1 tbsp of honey

A pinch of Celtic sea salt

Ice (optional)

A 24 oz Mason jar to mix it all up in (optional, otherwise use your favorite drinking container.)

Juice your lemon and filter out the seeds. Add the the juice to your mason jar along with your tablespoon of honey and mix it all up until the honey dissolves. I like to use a splash of water to dilute it even more for easier mixing.

Next, dice the peach half and add that to you jar as well. Fill with water to taste. I like mine a little more diluted so I usually mix in enough to fill the jar. If using ice, fill with water about 3/4 full and top off with ice.

Add a pinch of sea salt and give it a vigorous stir. Add your thyme sprigs last and stir one more time. Enjoy!

If you want a stronger infusion Add the thyme before your ice and let it steep in the fridge at least 20 minutes. If you prefer the flavor without the bulk, strain before serving. Stir, add ice and drink with pleasure.

Healing Benefits and Magical Properties:

  • Lemon juice and peaches are full of vitamin C and antioxidants and support multiple systems of the body. Lemons aid in digestion an immune function and the beta carotene in peaches are fantastic for eye health. In spell work.

  • Thyme has trace amounts of essential nutrients like magnesium, potassium, vitamin A, calcium, and more. It's anti-inflammatory and has gut healing benefits as it increases the protective gastric mucus layers in the stomach. It contains carvacrol, which can boost serotonin and dopamine so it's a great mood booster too!

  • Honey is full of even more antioxidants and it may have neuroprotective and metabolic benefits as well. It's one of my favorite sugar alternatives for this reason. (And it's sacred to Venus!)

Celtic sea salt is an electrolyte powerhouse and helps with multiple functions of the body. Some studies have shown that in moderation it can support heart health, immune function, digestion, and more.

These ingredients make for a potent magical elixir. All of them combined create a vibration of prosperity, abundance, grounding, joy, and love. Say a little prayer or set an intention while you stir and let it support your manifestations and refresh your body.
